Winter works underway

Just a quick update as to what’s been happening on the fisheries this past few weeks. Winter works are underway and the bailiff team have been busy on the farm and Alderfen. As you saw we put another dozen twenties in to Wyndham and we’ve also put another dozen upper doubles in to Pads.We've had a go at netting the roach out of Wyndham and caught the sum total of one! We had the nets in pads yesterday, we’ve removed around 50lb small roach and over a dozen single figure carp. We caught some fantastic big roach and perch which have been returned to the lake and any one of these would make someone’s season!

What is apparent is that the lakes.are very quiet and not getting much bait. We’ll be introducing a supplementary feeding routine to Pads and Gate Pool after Christmas, anyone with old bait sat at the botton of the freezer, we’d be very glad to receive it!

We’ll be juggling a few more of our stock fish around early in the New Year and watch this space for further introductions. They’ll be working parties on pads lake throughout January as well, I’ll publish details on here between Christmas and the New Year in the hope that some of you can lend a hand.

We’ve work planned at Mesters after Christmas as well, at the moment the lake is brim full so take your wellies if you’re going down. There’s been some great fish out of both lakes over the past couple of months but as usual the secret squirrels in play and photos are hard to come by!
