Weekly Update

The warmer weather over the weekend certainly livened things up at both fisheries, with the complexes being busier than of late and producing some great fish!

Alderfen initially, Wyndham is producing some stunning looking mirrors, Shane Rhodes stealing the show with a classic looking near leather at 25lb 9oz, up 7lb in weight over this past 2 summers. The ever consistent Kirk Collins and Daz Clarke also both landing some superb looking Wyndham residents. Pads lake has fished well with some great catches to members, good doubles to Paul Stephenson, Adam & Russ Gill, Jacob Horner, Luke Adcock, Dave Hardy and young master Hagan with a big slimey bream!

On to Big Mesters, some great fish been out this week, Nick Page capturing the warty mirror at 27.15, Andrew Deeley had a scale perfect 27lb common, Martyn Hurlstone had a multi fish catch topped by a brace of 20lb commons to 25lb, Mark Tinker had a stunning brace of 20’s with a mirror at 24lb 8oz and a common at big 22’s, my pick of the week is a brace of 8lb tench including an 8lb 4oz male to Mick Hunt, wish I had a picture! Little Mester’s another great catch to Phil Enticknap capturing ‘Petal’ at 28lb plus and several other commons and mirrors to low 20’s and the capture of our mystery koi to Andy Melbourne at its usual weight of 13lb 6oz! We call it the mystery koi because it appeared one day years ago swimming around the main lake and was thankfully swiftly evicted on its first capture by Adam Snowden to its current residence in Little Mester’s!

The other news from Mester’s this week is that we’ve finally started on phase 2 of the otter fence with the replacement of 600 metres of existing stock fence with new posts and Tornado wire, we’ll be glad when its done thats for sure!
